Showcasing a non-profit boosting underestimated commerce
Challenge
The challenge we faced was to encapsulate the essence of AltCap, an organization dedicated to providing financial support to underestimated entrepreneurs in the Kansas City metropolitan area, through a rebranding project. AltCap’s mission, vision, and values revolve around serving businesses and communities that traditional lenders overlook, making its name pivotal in conveying its purpose. We aimed to create a brand identity that not only reflected AltCap’s commitment to supporting underserved communities but also showcased its transformative impact. Our goal was to craft an annual report that not only informed stakeholders but also inspired them by visually and narratively communicating AltCap’s unique approach to financial empowerment.
Approach
To meet this challenge, we employed a strategic blend of language and layout elements to bring AltCap’s story to life in the rebranded annual report. Drawing inspiration from urban newspapers, we incorporated community-centric imagery and an editorial narrative highlighting AltCap’s funding initiatives in underestimated communities. A die-cut logo on the front cover visually introduced the organization’s work, inviting readers to delve deeper into its mission. Additionally, a stitched-in insert was utilized to present key statistics and the tangible financial success stories resulting from AltCap’s programs, effectively illustrating the impact of our efforts on the communities we serve. Through meticulous attention to detail and thoughtful design choices, we successfully captured the essence of AltCap’s mission and values, creating an annual report that informed and inspired its audience.
