The Kansas City Native Plants Initiative (KCNPI) approached Design Ranch to brand their inaugural conference, Plan It Native, aimed at raising awareness and capacity for native plant restoration. The conference needed a vibrant and engaging brand that would inspire and excite attendees about the future of native plants, providing them with practical knowledge and best practices for effective and maintainable plant use.

Design Ranch developed a dynamic green-on-green color palette to symbolize growth and renewal, complemented by plant-inspired icons that can be arranged in a grid or enlarged for visual interest. The conference was named Plan It Native, with a logo featuring a leaf shape hidden within a globe, cleverly playing on the word “planet.” The branding language embraced alliteration and discovery-related phrases, capturing the energetic and forward-looking spirit of the event. This approach ensured a memorable and cohesive brand identity that aligned with KCNPI’s mission and the conference’s objectives.
