Zero to Three is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit that aims to ensure all babies and toddlers have a strong start in life. The organization sought to transition from a traditional print to an online annual report to disseminate its rich content better and reach a broader audience. The challenge was to create a digital experience that maintained the organization’s integrity and depth of information while enhancing user engagement through the new medium, effectively communicating its impact and initiatives in a more accessible, engaging, and environmentally sustainable manner.

Design Ranch created an online annual report for Zero to Three that presented the organization’s achievements through a user-friendly, linear digital format, echoing the traditional reading experience of print. The report, themed “Growing Together,” was inspired by the African proverb “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” emphasizing the power of collective effort — a core value of Zero to Three’s mission in early childhood development. A direct-mail campaign with QR codes linked recipients to the digital content, marrying conventional outreach with modern technology to extend the report’s reach and impact. The online platform showcased the nonprofit’s work in a straightforward yet engaging format, aligning with the organization’s collaborative approach to supporting infants and toddlers and highlighting the importance of unity and partnership in creating lasting change.
